Grandma had only one son, yet she raised eight children. Grandpa was a gambler, but he served as the village Party secretary his entire life. Dad started working at sixteen. Though he had a stable job, he went through three failed marriages. I married and had a child of my own, yet I was the one who cared for Grandma and Grandpa until the end of their lives.
Though I had three mothers, Grandma was the only one who loved, cherished, and protected me. I am grateful to Grandma and Grandpa for raising me and for their selfless devotion, which let me experience both the warmth and coldness of the world. May all grandparents everywhere enjoy health and long lives.
Mothers should never leave their children if they can help it. Seeing how pitiful a child without a mother is, I cried several times.
