I was born in an obscure little mountain village in Northeast China. Yet this village is home to unsolved mysteries that defy explanation. Why is it called Ghost Mother Village? Why are all the mountains here called Zhi Fan Mountain? And what are those strange cries heard in the middle of the night? These questions haunted my childhood until I turned eighteen.
