Inscription: In May 1970, the 18th Regiment of the Heilongjiang Production and Construction Corps welcomed a group of students from the 1969th class of Shanghai.
Educated youth who graduated from junior high school. These people may have been forgotten by this era in the passing of time, but among them, more of them are still living around us as ordinary civilians. However, recording and remembering the miles they have traveled, not complaining, showing perseverance, still has its profound significance in the real social life where materialism prevails. Looking back on the perseverance they cultivated under difficult conditions later became a purpose for these educated youths to establish themselves after returning to the city. The educated youths such as Wang Tianlong described in the book are a microcosm of that special era.
