Back to Seventeen

Reborn + Campus + Healing

When seventeen-year-old Lu Qingqing, a high school sophomore, first met Le Nan, she thought he was perfect in every way. Sitting in front of and behind each other became a secret they shared without ever discussing it for two years.

They worked hard together and got into the same university, walking the same paths across campus. They thought getting together would happen naturally, but after graduation, they lost touch without a trace.

Eighteen-year-old Le Nan had met Lu Qingqing a year earlier. Or rather, he had fallen for her then.

He watched as the girl he loved drew closer to him, heading toward the future he had imagined. He had even rehearsed his confession thousands of times. But one phone call drained away every bit of courage he had to say the words aloud.

At twenty-six, Lu Qingqing returned to being seventeen.

That year, the sun was bright. The girl’s hair fluttered as she stood on the sports field, looking at the tall, vibrant boy before her.

Her eyes curved into a smile as she held out a bottle of water. “A Nan, want some water?”

This time, she wanted to reach out and hold on to him.
