Two young fairies who have never seen the world enter the service of the Medicine God. Their first task is to draw an illustrated guide to a hundred herbs, so they travel to the human realm, learning about medicinal plants while experiencing the many sides of human life. In time, they grow into mature young women who understand reason and emotion. Together, they travel across the land of China, sharing joys and hardships and each finding someone they cannot bear to part with.
