After seven thousand years of cultivation, a pair of Dao companions finally reached the God Realm. Though they had become among the universe's mightiest beings, they still wanted to climb higher and uncover the ultimate secrets of the Dao. Alas, their great fortune had run its course. They could only wait for the convergence of the right time, place, and people, along with a great opportunity, to occasionally steal a glimpse of Heaven's secrets. The two roamed the universe, exploring the unknown and traveling to every planet, but gained little from their efforts. In the end, they agreed to return to simplicity, go back to an ordinary life, seek out their original state of mind, let go of their obsessions, and cultivate their hearts. Thus began a new journey of understanding: seeing into people's hearts, distinguishing good from evil, bringing joy to others, taking on new disciples, defying fate, gathering great fortune, exploring heaven and earth, and unraveling its secrets. Heaven and Earth are not benevolent; they treat all things like straw dogs. The sages are not benevolent; they treat the common people like straw dogs.
Breaking free of worldly constraints, they use their disciples as chess pieces to explore the world's mysteries and encounter unknown creatures, from ants to Kua Fu. They travel the length and breadth of the Classic of Mountains and Seas, unite the strength of ten thousand clans, and stand against enemies from beyond the universe.
Hu Xiao said, "We only wanted to live freely, but we are human too. We could have stood by and watched. It was only a matter of whether one planet existed or not. But the blood flowing through our bodies, every drop of it, tells me I cannot stand by. Because of the laws, I cannot intervene directly. I can only go with the flow and stop this catastrophe."
Si Yao said, "All things in heaven and earth have a spirit and a life. In the end, all we cultivate is a single heart. Demons measure strength and weakness through power, while humans use wisdom to face the world's hardships and joys. Your arrival will add a great deal of color to this world."
