Detective Conan: When Science Meets the Supernatural

(Also known as Watching Conan Get Beaten from the Start. A Detective Conan fanfic with fortune-telling, mysticism, and comedy.)

Zuo Ye's fortune-telling was so accurate that he nearly stripped Heaven of its pants. Furious and embarrassed, Heaven chased after him with lightning.

It couldn't kill him, but honestly, it was kind of noisy.

Zuo Ye had only wanted to find somewhere quieter. He never expected a tiny mistake while marking his teleportation destination.

And so Zuo Ye accidentally teleported to the world of Detective Conan.

Zuo Ye hadn't even landed yet. His clothes were caught on a tree branch, leaving him hanging there. He looked at the dude speeding past on a dog and wondered, Why is he dressed like that certain kid detective who brings death wherever he goes?

He pinched his fingers to calculate the answer. Oh, turns out it's the Grim Reaper himself. Well, that explains it.

Zuo Ye had meant to watch the kid detective ride a dog up close, but instead found himself watching him fight a criminal. "Want your fortune told?"

The criminal and Conan: "..."

"You two are going to suffer a bloody misfortune," Zuo Ye said calmly.

After the criminal hit the kid detective with a club, he raised it and prepared to bring Zuo Ye his own bloody misfortune.

And then... then the criminal was beaten up by Ran Mouri, who arrived just in time.

Zuo Ye shrugged. "I told you there'd be a bloody misfortune. Why didn't you believe me?"

Conan lay on the ground, bruised and battered. Damn it! He actually made me look like a fool!

Conan: "Can you really tell fortunes?"

Zuo Ye: "Believe in science! Why would a kid like you believe in mysticism?"

Behind his back, Zuo Ye pulled out a little paper person. "Come on, little paper guy! Do a dance for me!"
