No one in City A believes that Pei Zhenduo, the notorious playboy, will settle down for Qiao Zhaozhao.
They think he’ll have a little fun, get bored soon, and toss her aside.
The haters are all waiting to laugh at Qiao Zhaozhao.
Then one day, Mr. Pei accidentally appears on a livestream.
He’s wearing a designer suit with a floral apron, a luxury watch on his wrist, and a pot of warming soup in his hands.
His usually cool eyes are tender and gentle as he says, “Be good and finish it. All the jewelry in the room is yours.”
How is Qiao Zhaozhao a canary? She’s clearly the apple of his eye!
The haters are stunned.
The video goes viral, and netizens send their blessings.
But Qiao Zhaozhao unexpectedly learns the truth.
He cherishes her only because she looks like Pei Zhenduo’s late beloved, Meng Nianwan.
Bold and spirited as ever, she kicks the tycoon to the curb and chooses to shine on her own!
Qiao: It was just for fun. I got bored.
Pei: It’s really over.
Years later, Qiao Zhaozhao returns to the country with an adorable child. Netizens have no choice but to accept the truth: the two really did break up.
But one day, paparazzi catch Mr. Pei, drunk and stripped of his arrogance, clinging to Qiao Zhaozhao in a wretched, pathetic state as he murmurs unconsciously, “Zhaozhao, please don’t leave me.”
Netizens are gobsmacked: “You can’t be the other man, Mr. Pei!”
Fans: “I’ll bet fifty cents the kid is Mr. Pei’s.”
But Qiao Zhaozhao remains unmoved. She slaps him hard and sneers, “You’ve got the wrong person. I’m a daughter of the Meng family, the family you drove into bankruptcy!”
Note: Qiao Zhaozhao is the amnesiac, reborn beloved. The ending is happy, so read without worry.
