The Daoist Scripture of the Supernatural

Legend has it that everyone has three lamps on their person: one above the head, and one on each shoulder.

On a pitch-black night, a blood-red moon flickered in and out of view behind the dark sky screen. The eerie silence made his heart uneasy.

Shao Xiao'er was walking along a deserted path between the graves when someone suddenly tapped him on the shoulder from behind.

The old man had warned him: “If someone taps your shoulder while you're walking at night, never look back. Otherwise, your life-lamp may go out and a ghost may possess you.”
