In the early years of the Republic, as war breaks out, one is a newly appointed general who has lost his family and only wishes for his country to survive; the other is a young lady from a fallen family, left without a home. At just the right moment, he saves her. They meet at just the right time. Later, she endures humiliation at the hands of others, all to help him defeat the enemy. Later still, he risks his life alone to rescue her loved ones. In the end, they fall in love at just the right time, giving their hearts to each other in a world torn by war.
