Inside Empresses in the Palace: Ying'er, the Most Sly Woman in History

She woke up to find that she had transmigrated into Empresses in the Palace, and into the body of Yu Ying'er, a cannon-fodder supporting character who shared her name. What a cruel twist of fate.

As a longtime fan who had watched the original series more than twenty times, all she wanted was to lie flat, latch onto the protagonists, and coast her way to the ending.

But she ended up personally abandoning that easygoing plan. She learned the ways of palace intrigue and forced herself to climb to the highest ranks. The manipulative tricks she had once hated most came naturally to her.

“Ling'er, do you know why all the women in the palace fight for favor? Many of them entered the palace wanting only to live quietly in the Forbidden City for the rest of their lives. But how could anyone expect peace in this harem?”
