"The Man of No Merit":
During the May Day holiday, I went back to my hometown in the countryside to help my father with the sale of his homestead.
My neighbor, Brother Zhang Lian, died. He was not yet forty years old.
I admired him very much when I was young. He had a gentle personality and knew a lot of things. He was the first in the village to be admitted to a prestigious university. However, due to mental disorder, he was dropped out of school less than half a year after entering. From then on, he went downhill.
He often fell ill, and would break things or remain motionless. Even his newlywed wife broke off the engagement with him on the wedding day because of his illness. I also changed from admiring him at first to being a little afraid of him.
Chapter "Village Stage":
The story happened a long time ago, there was a theater troupe in North Street. When they were busy, they worked in the fields, and when they were free, they went to the village to sing operas.
There is a pair of siblings on West Street. The elder sister is named Jinghua and the younger brother is named Jingdong. Their parents died young. Anyone who is familiar with them will inevitably feel pity for them.
My elder sister joined the theater troupe, sang in operas from elementary school, played background roles to minor supporting roles, and then acted as a unique heroine.
Even though she was shining brightly, in her eyes, the person who shone the brightest was still the young man who stood by the candle on that moonlit night and read a book.
Chapter "Yong Li and Yong Li":
14-year-old Peng Yongli doesn't like dressing up and wears a low ponytail all day long. Her mother ran away from home and her father remarried and went to work in the city. She was left in the countryside to be raised by her grandfather.
An aunt from out of town came to the house. The aunt was strange, her origins were unknown, her name was unknown, but she seemed to be able to read minds and knew many things about her.
Auntie can play badminton, knows that she is writing a novel, and will give her guidance on the direction of the novel.
