To ordinary readers on Earth, this book is simply a novel. With boundless imagination and ingenious plotting, the author draws readers into a wondrous, unfamiliar world, where the almighty God makes an appearance, holds back terrifying ghosts, helps the helpless, averts terrible disasters, and soothes wounded hearts. But to the Emperor of Planet Emperor, it is a report: an account of the experiences and impressions of an envoy sent by Planet Emperor to live among humanity on Earth.
Yet it fails to satisfy the high-energy Emperor. As the petition from the Ghost Realm puts it, humans have grown more and more shameless. They no longer deserve to live in the sunlight on Earth, and the ghost race should rule the planet instead.
However, the Emperor is fair-minded. The high-energy Emperor carefully noticed that from beginning to end, the book The Emperor Among Men was filled with something curious and unfamiliar even to an Emperor: emotion. It seemed to play a major role among humans. Even if it did not rule them, it could at least exert a considerable influence. What was emotion? Was it good or bad? Until this was understood, even the high-energy Emperor would not rashly decide to let the ghost race replace humanity.
The high-energy Emperor contacted the Ghost King, and the two had a brief discussion. The Ghost King agreed with the Emperor’s proposal. Together, they would go among humans and personally experience this so-called emotion, then make a rational decision about whether to destroy humanity. They had one day on Planet Emperor, equivalent to one year on Earth.
Naturally, with the highest-energy Emperor of Planet Emperor and the most powerful King of the ghost race making the journey, they would need to meet the finest human being. Only through him could they discover humanity’s truest nature.
