Male lead: Song Huaizhi. No official pairing for the male lead.
Female lead: Pei Yeyu. Official pairing for the female lead: Jin Yu.
Two powerful leads + breaking out of a deadlock + imprisonment + physical torment + the one who got away + tragic ending
Everyone has secrets. The sun is visible to all, yet it does not reside in anyone's heart.
Multiple perspectives. (Two volumes: the first from the female lead's perspective, the second from the male lead's perspective.)
In an age when cultivating the Dao matters more than earning a place in the imperial examinations, everyone hopes to become a cultivation prodigy, one in a million. Over the past hundred years, more and more people have pursued the Dao, no longer paying the court any heed. With the political situation unstable and the people unsettled, what calculations will it take to win the people's support?
Pei Yeyu left home in a fit of anger and resolutely became an assassin, never knowing that this path would lead her into an abyss of no return. Her appearance set off a chain reaction, bringing down the centuries-old prosperity of the Nine Sects, shattering the entire martial world, and exposing the scandal that had been buried twelve years ago. She was no chosen one, just a pawn manipulated by others. At last, control of the world returned to the court, and unifying the realm was only a matter of time.
The female lead is pure in volume one, but not in volume two. There are three romances; the latter two are coercive. She has two children. One woman and three men.
The timelines of the two volumes do not overlap. Those who cannot handle tragic stories should read with caution. Everyone in this story gets a tragic ending; not a single good or bad person survives.
Daoist cultivation realms: Qi Refining, Foundation Establishment, Great Heavenly Circuit, Lesser Heavenly Circuit, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Spirit Void, Unity, Tribulation Transcendence, Great Ascension.
Other realms: Initial Subtlety, Earth, Heaven, Mystic, Carefree, Transformation, Ascension, True Spirit.
Internal energy realms: Profound Mastery, Qi Refining, True Essence, Transformation, Grandmaster, Deification, Heaven Entry, Unity.
It's a good-looking and simple story. The heroine and her senior brother become so sweet very quickly. I really like this kind of plot without twists and turns.
It's been a long time since I watched Qingse's growth path.
