I Promise You a Lifetime of Joy

Qipao shop owner vs. entertainment company CEO, five-year age gap, marriage before love

Gu Wan has never dated anyone. At twenty-four, she goes straight into marriage with her best friend’s uncle. The two have only met a few times before they go to register their marriage.

There’s no wedding dress and no ceremony, just a wedding dinner attended by a few tables of family and friends.

As Meng Shiyu takes care of her in every possible way, Gu Wan secretly falls for him.

Through the little moments they share, Meng Shiyu gradually falls for Gu Wan, too.

One day, Meng Shiyu happens to discover that Gu Wan is especially cute when drunk. After a few drinks, she says all the things she usually wouldn’t dare to.

Later, Meng Shiyu coaxes her into drinking quite a bit because he wants to hear her call him “husband.” He keeps it up until Gu Wan’s throat is sore the next morning.
