Unforgettable Years

This memoir records my story, step by steady step, from an innocent, unsophisticated village girl in the countryside to a female student in the city, a progressive youth, a worker, a barefoot doctor, a worker-teacher, a factory cadre, and finally an honorably retired woman. I earned countless honors and went through a life full of twists and hardships, with joy and sorrow interwoven throughout. What I am especially proud of is that I lived through the Republic's sixty years of development. My difficult experiences reflect the political and social climate of that era. During the years when major setbacks and misfortune struck me, I remained resilient and self-reliant. Not only was I recognized as a formidable woman, I also overcame every difficulty and raised three children on my own for eight years. I brought up three outstanding sons and daughters, who have all since graduated from university and become senior technical professionals serving the country. So, encouraged by my family, I resolved to record my true experiences for future generations to remember.
