One Li

[Sweet romance + healing + showbiz] [A roguishly handsome, devoted director + a bold, cool female singer]

The bookstore was a mile from the school, the studio was a mile from the alleyway, and he and she were only a mile apart.

Lu Huaili was a renowned director in China. At just 26, he had already won awards of every size. Yet, to everyone's surprise, the celebrated director made a youth-focused campus film series, directing and starring in it himself. And he cast a heavenly-voiced singer with no acting experience as the lead actress.

Everyone was waiting to watch the famous director make a fool of himself. Instead, the film's box office soared to five billion, and audiences laughed and cried in theaters. Afterward, they all said they wanted to fall in love.

A reporter later asked Lu Huaili the question everyone had been wondering about: "Why make a youth-themed movie, and why choose Ms. Yu Yi as the leading actress?"

"Because it was my youth, and my leading lady could only be my wife."

Then Lu Huaili raised his slender, fair hand toward the camera, revealing a wedding ring.

Lu Huaili had loved Yu Yi for eight years. After all that time, he had finally crossed the mile between them.
