The Dashing Young Man and His Little Sunflower

[Cool, gentle boy Gu Bai and warmhearted, adorable girl Xiang Kui]

At his grandmother’s deathbed request, Gu Bai meets Xiang Kui at a flower shop. For the first time in his life, the cool and lonely boy manages to talk her into giving him a bouquet. Then, by a twist of fate, homeless Gu Bai gets the chance to stay at Xiang Kui’s home. And so their story begins.

Scene one: Xiang Kui hands Gu Bai a White Rabbit candy. “Here, have some candy.”

Gu Bai, who has never liked sweets, takes the candy and unwraps it. He carefully saves the wrapper, then looks up, his eyes sparkling. “This candy is really sweet.”

Scene two: Xiang Kui tugs at Gu Bai’s sleeve, her face full of curiosity. “Baibai, you always call me Little Sunflower. Does that mean I’m a sunflower in your heart?”

Gu Bai pauses. After a long silence, he gently brushes the loose hair hanging over Xiang Kui’s eyes and answers earnestly, “No. You’re my sun, and I’m the sunflower that appeared in your life and turns only to follow you.”

Gu Bai: “Little Sunflower, with no one else around, you’re all I see.”
