Little Mushroom

Beneath a towering locust tree lived a little mushroom, enjoying the shade from the scorching sun. Perhaps Heaven took pity on it, perhaps it absorbed the essence of the sun and moon, or perhaps it just got incredibly lucky... In any case, after living carefree for a thousand years, it gained sentience and took human form. But the little mushroom had no idea, and continued living beneath the towering locust tree until one day a scholar carrying a basket picked it. That was the end of its leisurely life as a little mushroom.

Note: Please don't yell at me because there's another novel with the same title! I signed a contract, so I can't change the name. Although the other author and I have the same title, our stories are completely different. If you came here because of the title, please don't open my work!!! Please don't yell at me! I write however I please. I haven't offended anyone, and if you do come after me, I'll immediately get down on my knees and apologize.
