The novel tells the story of the ups and downs of Mi Yue, the first woman in Chinese history to be called the "Queen Mother" and a female statesman of the Qin State during the Warring States Period. She was originally King Chu Wei's favorite little princess, but her life plummeted after King Chu Wei's death. Later, as the concubine of the legitimate princess Mi Shu, she married Qin. The original sisterly relationship gradually broke apart with Mi Shu after Mi Yue gave birth to her son, and Mi Yue was appreciated by Ying Si for her political sensitivity and talent. The princes fought for the throne, and Ying Si died in regret. Mi Yue and her son were sent to Yan State. Unexpectedly, Ying Dang died while holding the tripod, and Qin fell into civil strife. Mi Yue returned to Qin with the help of King Yiqu and put down the civil strife in Qin.
