“Friends? What, does Gu Mian kiss you too?” Shen Yuhai couldn’t accept it. He refused to settle for being friends. He wanted to be his lover, the one nobody could replace. “I can let everything else go, as long as you just say you like me too.”
He tried both gentle persuasion and hard pressure, but still couldn’t get Mu Zishan to say he liked him.
“I care… Shen Yuhai.” Mu Zishan sighed. “You need to stop.”

“From now on…” Shen Yuhai hesitated, but spoke anyway. “From now on, let me take care of you, okay?” Mu Zishan paused, just about to answer, when a runaway truck came straight toward them. A piercing screech of brakes rang out. In an instant, Mu Zishan’s car collided with the truck.
Mu Zishan’s mind went blank. All he could see was Shen Yuhai throwing himself over him. It was always like this: Shen Yuhai protected him without a second thought. Mu Zishan wanted to curse, but before he could even open his mouth, he lost consciousness.
