I was born in a poor village in a poor county. My grandparents were the richest people for miles around, and I was their favorite granddaughter. I grew up wanting for nothing, and all the kids my age in the village were jealous of me. I spent my childhood at the center of everyone’s attention. After graduating from middle school, I went away to find work. I experienced both the kindness of people who gave me a leg up and the malice of those who tried to bring me down, and eventually became the king of migrant workers.
