Water and Fire in Harmony

Five years ago, after a failed romance and being ostracized at work, Lin Yu lost all hope, gave everything up, and left for a faraway place.

Five years later, Lin Yu returns stronger than ever. This time, she refuses to put up with anything or suffer in silence. She throws herself back into the cutthroat world of work, only to discover that the failed romance she had brooded over for years had hidden complications, and that Jiang Yan, the man she once secretly loved, has another identity...

Just as her career is thriving, she makes a different choice and follows her heart down another path.

“Rain belongs to water, and you’re fire. We’re natural opposites.”

“He was wrong. I’m not fire. My fate lacks fire, so maybe I’m water too.”

“Then aren’t you afraid my rain will put out that little spark of yours and leave your five elements out of balance?”

“Not at all. But I do have a little fire that I need you to put out right now.” After Jiang Yan said this suggestively, he pressed his warm, damp lips against Lin Yu’s soft ones.

Much later, Jiang Yan asked Lin Yu, curled up in his arms, “Xiao Yu, does this mean water and fire can blend together?”
