Yu Chichi is the beloved young lady of the Yu family in C Country, and the apple of everyone’s eye at home.
Her aloof, dignified eldest brother: “Chichi, the company next door just launched a new jewelry line. I’ll transfer you…”
Her refined, scholarly second brother: “I’ve collected another batch of antiques. Chichi, which ones do you like?”
Her dashing, spirited third brother: “Fishpond, work out with me this morning. You need a healthy body to be a healthy little miser.”
Ji Moting is the eldest young master of the Ji family and the third leader of Que Si Pavilion.
Yu Chichi and Ji Moting are the very picture of childhood sweethearts. But for various reasons, the two are at odds. Or at least, that’s how Yu Chichi sees it. Ji Moting, meanwhile, insists: “It must be my fault for making Chichi angry. Whatever she says or does is right.”
When her organization assigns her a mission, Yu Chichi must disguise herself as a man to get close to Ji Moting. Ji Moting, however, won’t stop pursuing “him.” Yu Chichi’s inner monologue: “Is he trying to make a fool of me? Or does he like men?”
Ji Moting, on the other hand, thinks that bringing “him” into his fold would be smart. Better to have another friend than another enemy!
She wants to treat him like a brother, while he mistakenly thinks she likes him. But when Yu Chichi returns to wearing women’s clothes, Ji Moting feels the face-slapping comes far too quickly.
(Yu Chichi’s nicknames: Chichi/Fishpond, a pun based on the pronunciation. While disguised as a man, she goes by Chi Yu.)
