A little scene:
He flipped back the covers, sat up a little, and lit a cigarette.
“How was last night?”
She pressed her lips together and gave him a sidelong glance. “It's not like I'm writing a review.” She paused and cleared her throat. “A huge improvement.”
He raised an eyebrow. “How huge? You weren't satisfied that time at Four Seasons?” He put extra emphasis on “improvement.” Both “improve” and “enter” suggest an action, but the way he stressed it inevitably set the imagination running.
With her back to him, she drew her feet from beneath the covers and gave him a kick.
Her face flushed. “You're so childish. Who would guess the chairman of Shanshui Group was like this in private? Do your employees know?”
Note: A little sweet, a little bitter, with a low-key plot and a realistic feel.
A post-marriage story about personal growth.
The male lead is a widower raising a child, and the female lead is divorced and raising a child. Readers who prefer chaste relationships, beware.
