The Demon Clan broke its promise. As it attacked the Celestial Realm, it unleashed monsters and demons upon the human world. The four major sects sent their most capable members to Mount Kuaiji to find the former War God’s Seven-Star Sword, hoping to use it to slay the monsters and demons. The villain, Xiao Jue, despises everything in the Three Realms and wants to destroy Hongmeng and remake the realms. He develops inexplicable feelings for Liu Yueshu, the original heroine, and is eventually killed by the hero and heroine together. Chai Siyin was an ordinary reader, but after reading "The Tale of Subduing Demons", she unexpectedly transmigrates into a book.
“I didn’t transmigrate as the heroine, so what am I even here for? To be cannon fodder?”
“Of course not. You’re the War God, even if you’ve been demoted and turned into a total slacker. You have to win over the villain, stop him from dying, and protect all living beings.”
“What! In the original story, he killed that slacker War God.”
“That’s right. So if you fail the mission or he kills you, you’ll be dead in the real world too.”
Good-looking, really good-looking
