Synopsis
Ten years in this world: how many people can you love, and how many times? Apart from Shen Chuannian, Bai Cheng’s heart stubbornly refuses to beat for anyone else.
Bai Cheng graduated with a master’s degree from A University. She is ambitious at work, comes from a happy family, and is bold and carefree. Yet when it comes to liking Shen Chuannian, she refuses to make a rash move.
She inches closer to him, one step at a time, with an ulterior motive.
Shen Chuannian, a master’s graduate who returned from M Country, is a natural-born favorite of heaven. He carries flowers in his hand and a sword in his heart, and vows to live with integrity, be an honorable gentleman, and follow his own nature, unmoved by anyone.
Bai Cheng approaches and flirts with Shen Chuannian, using her impeccable personality, making her feelings clear both directly and indirectly. Yet none of it works as well as the one unexpected occasion when Shen Chuannian walks into Wanzhou’s counseling center on his own.
That’s right: love should be between equals. I won’t exploit your weaknesses, but I understand your defenses. I won’t judge you for being vulnerable, because those are the parts of you I want to embrace.
A one-sided crush can last a long time. Its only advantage is that the feelings belong to you alone: you can call it off whenever you like and walk away.
And when Bai Cheng walked away, she was gone for ten years.
In truth, she couldn’t leave without looking back.
Ten years later, work finally brings them together and gives them a chance to talk. But the male lead falling for her and the two of them getting together still feels like camping through a long, foggy frost season with no sunrise in sight, unable to see the road ahead.
Actually, I haven’t decided how it ends. It seems everyone is Bai Cheng. Selfishly, I want to give her a happy ending.
Later I felt that the heroine was really pretentious
