The Underworld has two kings, one man and one woman. The daughter, Su Luo, is carefree and irresponsible, wandering the mortal world and racking up a mountain of debts in lives.
Feeling guilty, she flees back to her lair, only to be warned by the laws of Heaven and Earth. With no other choice, she possesses an awful old woman to repay her debts.
But after accidentally drinking expired Granny Meng's soup, she forgets who she is. Looking at the crowd of sons and grandsons around her, she gets a headache.
Food and water are scarce, bandits run rampant, and the road to escape the famine stretches endlessly before her. It all makes her think that dying would be better than struggling to live.
But it turns out that living is hard and dying is even harder, so she grits her teeth, leans on her cane, and pushes on.
“Want to steal our food? Sorry, there’s one thing this old woman is good at: slaughtering dogs.”
“You there, ghost! Yes, you! Don’t just stand around. Go scout the road!”
Su Luo has only one piece of advice for ill-intentioned people: Fighting Heaven and Earth is endless fun; cross me, and I’ll send you home!
