Old Things

Birth, old age, illness and death are the normal state of life; joy, anger, sorrow and joy are human nature. In an era when both material and spiritual needs are poor, family affection, love, and friendship are all under heavy pressure, and they appear disheveled due to lack of nutrition: brothers and sisters are deeply affectionate, but unable to help; old people love to lick their calves, but young people find it difficult to repay their kindness; husband and wife are in the same forest, and each survives the disaster; close friends are in trouble, but it is difficult to show mercy. This book describes the portraits of living beings in mountain villages in Southwest Guizhou in the 1960s and 1970s. The things in the story are true if they are said to be true, and they are true if they are stated to be false; the people in the story, whether real or false, are my father's generation, or they may be yours. Some of them are no longer alive, and some are still alive. This is the story of the deceased, but it is the story told by the living. The story has both joy and sorrow, a mixture of joy and sorrow, and is the epitome of the emotions of a generation.
