A post-apocalyptic scientist with many hats × a traveler through time
He Heng is second-in-command at a research institute. In the year 2200, Earth’s environment has been severely damaged and humanity’s survival is under threat. He has no choice but to take on the responsibility of searching for a way to save the planet amid the crisis.
While conducting an investigation, he is accidentally stranded on a deserted island, where he meets “Friday.” Friday has little understanding of human emotions, and the two share plenty of hilarious misadventures on the island.
After He Heng returns to the institute, the mystery of the west gradually unravels. The secrets of the apocalypse come to light: selfishness, regret, redemption...
“This way,” Bliss says.
He Heng is baffled. He hasn’t spotted anything. “How do you always know?”
“Have you ever considered that I might have known you before we met?”
Content warning: The secondary couple includes a clone. Apart from his tragic origins, he’s no different from an ordinary person. He is also the main antagonist.
One protagonist is an alien employee on the official roster, with an assigned identification number. The two had already met in another timeline, but He Heng died on a mission. Bliss travels through time to help him avoid the path he was originally destined to follow. Bliss has little time left to live after repeatedly moving between timelines, so he doesn’t want He Heng to think too highly of him. To make things easier, Bliss kills his counterpart in this timeline.
The first time they meet:
“You’re pretty good at fighting. Want to come back to the research institute with me?”
Bliss has come with a mission: to bring back the person with the ID number A006, the man standing right in front of him. He’s Bliss’s old rival, left behind on Earth after getting into trouble.
“Sure. Date me, and I’ll do whatever you say.”
Very good! The whole text is written from the male protagonist's first perspective, which is very immersive. Some techniques are used to give the characters rich and full emotions, and there are many foreshadowings, which makes people look forward to future plots. If it's not bad, it must be a good book, so cheers to the author!!! (Actually, this book is not my favorite type, but it is really good. I think if I just leave like this, I will regret it very much!)
It was quite funny at first (✪▽✪) I feel like there are more emotional lines in the back, just look at the names.
