The growth from a young boy to a major general in the army is indeed legendary. It can also be seen that Zhen Zui's superior methods and methods of dealing with people are ranked first among the three swordsmen of the army and the four kings of the army. His reputation is by no means in vain. It also introduces many interesting people and events of that special era. It is indeed a relatively good biography, from which you can learn something, think about it, and draw lessons from it. I think this book deserves five-star praise.
Learned about a real period of the Kuomintang period
After being obsessed with a junior high school student and becoming Dai Li's confidant, I felt that I was doing well and felt proud every day. Du Yuesheng, a country boy became the boss of the Shanghai Youth Gang and monopolized the entire Shanghai business. He is not as proud as you😅
This is the second oral version of a historical memoir that I have come across. The last historical memoir that I read was Pu Yi's "The First Half of My Life". This memoir mainly records Mr. Shen Zui's personal experience when he was a military reunification agent in the Kuomintang. In fact, we can see many important historical events from his personal memories, and from a more internal and personal perspective, he describes and interprets the intertwined power of the military at that time. The whole text is written fluently, and the content description is true and detailed, which is very touching.
The biggest attraction of this book is the true historical story of a special profession. The drunken cow is a real cow, but the bad is also really bad. More than 800 pages of content cover half of a spy's life, from a passionate young man serving the country to a cold-faced spy leader. The passion and sadness are vividly displayed on the page. I feel that spies are not as cold-blooded as shown in movies and TV shows. They are also tender and filial like ordinary people. If we look at this as a profession, Shen Zui is very successful and is the only director who has not been replaced. This is inseparable from his mother, his brother-in-law, and his boss, all of whom are the most important people in his life. Secondly, he himself is a very alert, good at learning, willing to listen to suggestions, and willing to reflect. In the end, it was the remaining kindness he had under his mother's profound teachings, which can be regarded as a good death. But the methods used to arrest and harm people are really abominable, hard to guard against, and scary. One thing that I find bad about reading is that there are many names of people who briefly appeared in it, but I don't know many of them myself, which makes me feel a little uncomfortable while reading. I must remember history.
The memoirs of past events, dictated by Shen Zui and compiled by his daughter Shen Meijuan, describe Shen Zui's tortuous experiences in the 30 years from the Yunnan uprising in 1949 to 1980. 18 Years ago, he was an innocent and honest young man; 18 years later, he is a shrewd and ruthless military leader. From the proud subordinate of "King of Murderers" Dai Li to a prisoner of the Communist Party, a veteran KMT military commander indulged himself in revealing his 18-year twists and turns in his military career, revealing unknown military secrets and numerous crimes committed by KMT agents.
This is a memoir about espionage and intelligence work. Through rhetorical techniques such as metaphors and parallelism, the author reviews his experiences and thoughts in spy work. This book details the author's tasks, confusion and growth in his spy work. Through real stories and insights, the author shows the complexity and challenges of spy work, as well as the impact on his own life. During the reading process, readers can learn about the stories behind spy activities and the hardships of work. At the same time, they can also think about the impact of spy work on society and individuals, as well as the importance of security and privacy.
It is a rare experience to understand a period of history from the perspective of a former enemy. Although the book somewhat embellishes its content, it can generally restore the historical truth at that time. I love this type of biography!
Shen Zui's mother is an amazing mother. She used her kindness to influence Shen Zui and made him humane in some things.

There is a feeling of listening to a wonderful novel, which truly reproduces the history of that time and leaves precious historical information for future generations.
Authentic and believable, with outstanding memory, it's worth a read!
It's well written and will keep you reading.
Like this book very much
Heroes should be created by current events, and when people's survival is in crisis, they must find a way; ordinary people follow the trend, follow the popular route, and maintain their fruits; heroes start to make their fortunes and lay the foundation for their future.
I have seen many descriptions of spies in movies and TV series, and reading books is a different feeling, and it is more real and concrete, giving me a different experience. Shen Zui recalled his eighteen-year military career, climbing to the top of the military step by step, until he became a major general and director of general affairs at the age of 28. After Dai Li's death, due to the power struggle within the military command, he was "sent" to Yunnan and was "sent" to Yunnan. He was eventually detained by Lu Han and participated in the Yunnan Uprising. This book plays a very important role in helping readers understand this group in history.
I have really wanted to read this book before, but this time I finally got the chance. The story is narrated in the first person, and the plot is full of twists and turns. It is a book I must listen to and read every day. I very much admire Mr. Shen Zui's ability to deal with people, think about problems, and solve problems. Especially after Dai Li's death, his keen sense of smell, decisiveness, careful thinking and execution ability allowed him to skillfully deal with Zheng Jiemin, Tang Zong and Mao Renfeng. Seven of the eight military commanders were replaced, but only one remained intoxicated. It can be seen that his emotional intelligence and IQ are high, and he is truly the best among the best.
Shen Zui's memoirs record his 18 years of military command in a relatively objective manner! It's also a better autobiography!
The writing is good. It contains a story full of dangers and true feelings, as well as the ups and downs of officialdom and the ups and downs of human relationships. It has the passion of youthful ambitions and the lingering desire to speak through the world. It is worth reading.
I read this book more than thirty years ago, and I benefit a lot from reading it again now.
Let us understand the growth path of a well-known "military spy". The reality is ordinary and the extraordinary is ordinary.
Very good and worth reading.
Shan Ke was broken and joined the revolution, which made people laugh and cry. There are only vague afterimages in the memoirs, a glimpse of the leopard in the tube, and a glimpse of it.
I really like this book. It will definitely be a big hit if it is made into a TV series.
A very good book, worth reading.
It truly describes the scene at that time, and I dare not leave out a word. Like other novels I read, they are all one word and ten lines.
Real and objective. There is humor in the simplicity.
Really appreciate and enjoy this book! Worth a look! [Like][Like][Like][Like][Like][Like][Like][Like][Like][Like][Like][Like]
The past is like smoke, drifting away for decades...
This book is a great read
