Earth's Timeline:
Winter, 1978 AD: Chinese astronomers discover a large number of unusually moving meteorites in the Oort Cloud. In December of the same year, the Ark Project and the Spark Project are launched simultaneously.
1990 AD: Apollo Ten launches into space, is assembled in low Earth orbit, bids farewell to Earth, and heads into the depths of the universe.
2012 AD: The meteorite swarm arrives. Countless meteorites over 10 km in diameter strike Earth, bringing human civilization to the brink of extinction. The AD era ends.
Ark Era 0000: Of the fourteen Arks, thirteen successfully launch. The Earth Defense Council revises the calendar to the Ark Era.
Ark Era 0003: Humanity faces a food crisis. The dangers of overloading the Arks against regulations at launch come to a head three years later.
Ark Era 0004: A researcher aboard Ark Thirteen succeeds in extracting and transmitting energy from meteorites. This is the origin of the term Originium.
Ark Era 0007: A researcher accidentally cuts their skin on an Originium product, and Oripathy breaks out.
Ark Era 0010: As the waters recede, the surviving humans leave the Arks and set foot on land.
Ark Era 0056: The last human dies at the hands of Oripathy.
Human civilization ends here
And, countless years later, a new civilization emerges. They call this land
Terra.
There isn't a lot of nonsense in the book, so don't read too quickly.
The worldview is novel but reasonable. It is a good book. It's just that updates are so slow
