Xi and Dongpan

Shen Dongpan is a sweet-looking young woman who has a crush on the handsome Lin Xiyu. A misunderstanding, along with the struggle to find work and make a living in the real world, eventually drives Shen Dongpan and Lin Xiyu apart. Meanwhile, the writer Meng Jiangshan has been quietly playing matchmaker and bearing witness to the love between Shen Dongpan and Lin Xiyu. She writes a book called Xiyu and Dongpan to commemorate them. It seems that Meng Jiangshan is simply writing a story, but while working on Xiyu and Dongpan, she unexpectedly finds happiness of her own. When the novel is finally published, Meng Jiangshan holds up Xiyu and Dongpan and says to the person she loves, Sun Ziran, “Xiyu and Dongpan, also known as A Grand Dream of Jiangshan, may seem to be about other people, but it’s really about us.” It takes Sun Ziran a long time to understand what Meng Jiangshan means. In the end, he, too, finds his own happiness.
