[Ensemble cast + pure historical romance + devotion to country + national revival + political intrigue + palace intrigue + sacrifice + development + war + peace + no love-struck heroines + focused on progress + patriotic fervor + each serving their own side + counterintelligence battles]

Ji Tianwu is a crown princess of great wisdom. She has no interest in romance, and she will not let her husband lose his heroic spirit.

The people of Great Zhou know only that the crown princess is virtuous and gracious, a model for all the women of the dynasty.

They do not know that she has grand ambitions of her own...

Sheng Qiguang is a crown prince with boundless ambition. Like water taking the shape of whatever contains it, he is endlessly adaptable.

The people of Great Zhou know him as a hero and the heir to the throne they revere. They also know he loves beauty: though he and the crown princess are devoted partners, the Eastern Palace is full of beautiful concubines.

What they do not know is that the crown prince and crown princess share the same ideals. Together, they mean to brave every storm and unite the realm...

[An alternate history. This story follows three generations of the Great Zhou imperial family as they strive to strengthen the nation, eliminate every threat, pacify the four directions, and win the hearts of the people.]
