Thanks for Asking: My Cool-Headed Minister Is Carrying Out the Emperor’s Matchmaking Plan

[Historical romance + two male leads + bottom protagonist + comedy + devoted couple + sweet with a little angst]

The gentle and refined Lord Xie x Zejing, an outstanding student and a young emperor

Readers, rest assured: this story is sweet with just a little angst.

Zejing, a university student from the 21st century, inexplicably transmigrates to an alternate ancient world. He plans to take things as they come, only to be forced into becoming emperor! Day and night, the young emperor thinks about how to avoid getting caught up in this maelstrom, yet day and night he is also unable to tear himself away from his beloved minister.

Lord Xie won’t let him leave the palace? Fine, he won’t leave. Lord Xie won’t let him get worked up over those sour-faced officials in court? Fine, he’ll just keep smiling.

As the saying goes, you can’t hit someone who’s smiling. Zejing believes he can surely surpass his teacher and remain unstained, like a lotus rising from clear waters!

But being emperor isn’t easy. Why does he have to get up at four or five in the morning even after the imperial exams, just to deal with those sour-faced officials? Why does someone always contradict him when he says three? Why does he think he holds a special place in his beloved minister’s heart? Lord Xie is only doing his duty, after all.

At the thought, Zejing can’t help feeling overcome with sorrow.

At least he’s in an alternate world, and at least he has a little money to show off. Surely this counts as half a power-fantasy male lead’s story!

But the wheels of fate have already begun turning, slowly dragging Zejing step by step into the abyss.

Xie Lin’an is slow to return those feelings, and as they are pulled back and forth between love and uncertainty, one tragedy after another unfolds, bringing forth different versions of Zejing…
