He lived among the people as a boy, became a soldier as a young man, started a business in his prime, achieved little success in his middle age, and died of resentment in his later years. What is the meaning of his life? He unified the Northeast, he unified the Jurchen tribe, and established the Later Jin Kingdom. However, his national character was so strong that the national policies implemented by his descendants when they entered the Central Plains were unacceptable. His conservatism was also passed down to his descendants, resulting in the Qing Dynasty's closed policy that would last for hundreds of years. But Nurhaci is dead, and our comments cannot change anything. We just hope that we can make a fair evaluation of such a contradictory person.
