(Mutual firsts + romance + cultivation + scheming)
A story about a frail, gentle young master and a bold, carefree fox spirit.
A friendly warning: the young master is the flirty type from the start. The fox spirit blushes furiously at first, but later turns the tables. Definitely worth picking up.
The red-tailed fox took human form and sat on a wooden stool, a wine jug in hand. Tipsy, it reached out. “Shen Yunjing, you helped me. According to the rules of my fox clan, I can grant you three wishes.”
Across from him sat a young man playing the qin. Beneath the moon, by the window, with his qin, he seemed bathed in a silvery veil of moonlight.
“Oh? I want to cultivate and become stronger. Can a little fox like you help me with that?”
The little fox took a long swig. The capital’s fine wine truly lived up to its reputation. It seemed to be enjoying itself. “Who are you calling little? You still have two wishes left.”
The young man beneath the moon smiled and glanced up at it, treating the words as a joke. “Those last two? I can’t grant them right now. I’ll do it another time.”
When he turned around again, the beautiful woman in red was gone. Only a red-tailed fox remained, sprawled across the table with its paws around the wine jug.
The young man shook his head helplessly, then rose and gently lifted the fox onto the bed, tucking it in.
The fox murmured, “I’ll definitely... definitely help you... fulfill your wish.”
