He rose to the rank of bachelor several times, but eventually died due to the deterioration of his condition. In the end, the two fateful mandarin ducks could never see each other again. In the forty-second year of Qianlong's reign, Concubine Shu Yehenara passed away. Qianlong finally relented after receiving Wanyan's pleas on her deathbed, and ordered that the identities of sisters Wanyan and Wanxuan be changed back, and the fifth sister Wanxuan returned to Shu. The concubine's name was buried in Yuling, while Wanyan was buried with Fu Heng at the same place, and returned to his wife's house again. They planted saplings of famous species in front of their graves and ordered people to take good care of them, hoping that they would be connected and never be separated again.
