They say nine out of ten romances in the Republican Era end in tragedy. As the nation teeters on the brink, everyone faces one trial after another involving country, self, love, and family. Meng Qingwan, a sheltered young heiress, endures the loss of loved ones, the sacrifice of a dear friend, and the betrayal of the person she loves. With each hardship, she grows into a strong and independent young woman.
“Ye Qingyun, tell me, what kind of era are we living in? Why do the people around me, my family and friends, keep leaving me one by one? Why might every meeting be our last farewell? Why do we work so hard to live every day, yet still tremble with fear that we won’t see tomorrow’s sun? What are we supposed to do? Please, tell me…”
“Meng Qingwan, get a grip. At least we’re still alive, and as long as we’re alive, there’s hope. You have to keep living with all your heart. Only if we survive can we see the day we drive the enemy away!”
The writing is very good and easy to get involved. Especially the description of Lin Feng's death was so vivid that it seemed to be really visible. This is a great book not to be missed. Highly recommended!!!!!!!!
