A Strange Record of Inviting the Gods

Tales of supernatural wonders and strange happenings that will help readers learn more about China's gods!

Zhang Haoling learned the art of summoning gods in a dream. He can call upon gods and demons from across the heavens to descend and help him destroy evil ghosts, fight wicked demons, and bring blessings to all. Every ghost and monster has its own story, and every god and demon has its own troubles. The protagonist always remembers the words an immortal once imparted to him: “Nothing can be taken with you, only karma follows you.”

Ma Tianlong is an heir to the northeastern tradition of spirit mediums. Born into a family of practitioners, he also possesses the family heirloom, the Immortal-Summoning Token of Jiuding Tiesha Mountain. Exceptionally gifted in the occult, he is a close and perfectly in-sync friend of the protagonist. Together, they form a two-man team that summons gods and spirits.

There is also Ling Feiyu, a young Taoist priest who is afraid of ghosts but virtually unmatched in martial prowess. Under an immortal's guidance, he becomes Zhang Haoling's bodyguard and enforcer.
