"It took me forever to finally get to sleep. Ah." Pulling his saw, Bald Qiang trudged dejectedly along a dirt path through the forest, then let out another yawn.
"Boss Li woke me up again first thing this morning, telling me to get up and work. My life is just too miserable." With dark circles under his eyes, a scruffy beard, and not a hint of color in his face, Bald Qiang walked through the autumn forest.
A rustling came from the bushes by the roadside. Startled, Bald Qiang crouched warily and asked, "Who's there?" He dropped his saw and stammered, "C-come out!"
"Is it a bear?" Bald Qiang asked, his voice losing its nerve as he stared at the bushes rustling in front of him. Was he really this unlucky? Had he run into a bear first thing in the morning?
Terrified, Bald Qiang raised both hands in front of his chest, his pupils dilated as he trembled and cried out, "Ah! Ah! Ah!"
A snow-white rabbit hopped out of the bushes. Bald Qiang was already so scared that he had fallen onto the ground.
"Huh! Ah! Ah!" Sitting on the ground with his eyes shut and his right arm held up in front of him, he clearly still had quite a trauma from Xiong Da and Xiong Er.
Thump. The little rabbit hopped right up to Bald Qiang.
After hearing nothing from Xiong Da for a while, Bald Qiang bravely opened his eyes. A little rabbit was by his feet. He straightened his hat, which had been knocked askew, and stared straight down at the rabbit, his eyes wide open.
Under Bald Qiang's gaze, the rabbit hopped into the bushes across the path.
Bald Qiang followed it with his eyes. "So it was just a rabbit."
Sss.
"Ah! What was that sound?"
