In the martial world, eight great sects vie for supremacy. In the imperial court, four princes fight for the throne.

At court, he and the other heroic swordsmen protect the crown prince as he ascends the throne. Once they have achieved fame and success, he leads them all into retirement, avoiding the fate of being discarded once their usefulness is over.
Thus, he becomes a great hero of his age.
