The prose in this book is very charming. I especially like the article "From Rolling Rice to Stepping on Rice". It vividly depicts the life scenes of old Shanghai and makes me feel as if I am immersed in the scene. However, I don't really like some of the characters in it, such as someone in "The Moon Is Like Frost Beyond the Golden Beam Bridge". Some of his behaviors made me a little disgusted. Overall, this anthology is well worth reading and it gave me a deeper understanding of Zheng Zhenduo's prose.
