Online Game: My Potion Effects Are Completely Random

(Not an invincible protagonist story. Legions, tactical battles of wits, dark themes, an ensemble cast, and two intertwined storylines spanning the game and reality. The protagonist is a strategist who excels at using firearms.)

In 2077, on Blue Star, Qimeng, the country’s leading gaming company, released a virtual online game called Tarot. Its realism was touted as making it humanity’s second world, and players could even bring items from the game into reality.

The game caused a nationwide sensation as soon as it launched. People from all over the world flocked to play it, and Zheng Yi, a devoted fan of Qimeng, naturally joined in too.

Unfortunately, his luck wasn’t great. He awakened the lowest-tier talent: the D-rank Potion-Making Maniac. The effects of the potions he brewed were completely random, but drinking one was guaranteed to cause potion poisoning.

Fortunately, he had chosen a race immune to negative effects, so he kept experimenting and brewed all kinds of potions.

Potion effect: The first creature you make eye contact with using your left eye will obey one command from you completely.

Potion effect: After drinking, defense increases by 200%, and 50% of damage received is reflected back. Lasts 3 minutes.

Potion effect: After drinking, the next enemy hit by your attack will suffer a negative effect every 10 seconds. Lasts 60 seconds.

And so, Zheng Yi used this talent to make his way to the top.

P.S. The protagonist follows the legion-building route and will create a legion of his own. One possible sticking point is that early on, he has an almost pathological sense of justice. He isn’t exactly a bleeding heart so much as a righteous crusader who despises evil.
