Jiang Wei's Northern Expeditions in the Three Kingdoms

An imaginative alternate-history take on the Three Kingdoms. Jiang Wei was born into the Jiang clan of Tianshui. During Zhuge Liang's Northern Expeditions, Ma Zun, the Wei governor of Tianshui, suspected Jiang Wei of harboring traitorous intentions. With no other choice, Jiang Wei surrendered to Shu Han, where Zhuge Liang made good use of him. After Zhuge Liang's death, Jiang Wei began to distinguish himself in Shu Han. After Fei Yi was assassinated, Jiang Wei took sole command of the military and continued leading Shu Han's armies on Northern Expeditions against Cao Wei. He clashed with Wei's famous generals Deng Ai, Chen Tai, and Guo Huai many times, with both sides winning and losing. Later, most Shu Han officials opposed Jiang Wei's Northern Expeditions, while the eunuch Huang Hao manipulated power at court. After failing to kill Huang Hao, Jiang Wei went to Tazhong to farm and avoid disaster. Then Sima Zhao invaded Shu with five armies. Jiang Wei evaded Deng Ai and the others who had been holding him back, retreated to Jiange, and blocked Zhong Hui's forces. But Deng Ai launched a surprise attack on Chengdu from Yinping. After Liu Shan surrendered, he ordered Jiang Wei to surrender to the Wei army. After surrendering, Jiang Wei planned to use Wei general Zhong Hui's rebellion against Sima Zhao as an opportunity to restore the Han dynasty, but was ultimately killed.
