A Hand-Drawn Panorama of Chinese History: The Essential Edition (Eight Volumes)

This is a series of books on history and culture written for children, created by a professional team of artists and writers to bring young readers a series of richly illustrated scenes from historical life.

The journey begins with the Peking Man, a representative of ancient humans, and ends in 1912 with the abdication of the last emperor of the Qing dynasty. From hundreds of thousands of years of history, we have selected topics rich in stories and vivid scenes, with questions, points of interest, and facts suited to children’s understanding. Each topic is connected to the next by its place in history, yet also stands on its own, so children can wander freely according to their interests, just as they would in a museum.

The book contains 104 historical scenes and nearly 1,000 questions and answers, covering every aspect of Chinese history and culture. Though the topics range widely, they all serve a common purpose: to open a window for children, using pivotal moments in history to reveal the daily lives and inner worlds of people in the past.
