Lincoln Rhyme took on an almost impossible task - together with his partner Emilia, he tracked a cargo ship carrying more than 20 stowaways and a smuggler nicknamed "Ghost". When they locked the position of the freighter in the vast sea, a mysterious explosion swept most of the stowaways into the seabed, and the survivors were also hunted by "ghosts". Rhyme and Amelia must find the two families who narrowly escaped the shipwreck in New York City's maze-like Chinatown, and uncover the cruel and mysterious "ghost."

It can be seen that the author has done a lot of homework and his description of China is not too outrageous. In any country there are good people and bad people. P. S. I originally thought that the stone monkey in the title of the book refers to Lincoln, because he is like a great sage with great powers but is trapped under the Five Fingers Mountain and cannot move. .
The writing style of this book is exciting and the plot has ups and downs, which made me feel like I was on a roller coaster. The author Deaver is good at setting up suspense and constantly reversing the plot, which kept me highly interested in reading. Moreover, the criminal investigation knowledge in the book is very rich, which adds to the realism of the story. I think the Lincoln Rhyme series is wonderful and I'm looking forward to reading more from this series!
