After watching the BBC version of The Magic Hand, I suddenly realized that ITV had too many magical changes, so I looked for the original work and found out that the BBC version was really a good adaptation. The key is that the slow pace of the whole drama is very suitable for the novel. Gerry Burton is very charming in the drama, but the actor who plays the 1983 version of Jane Eyre Rivers is very ordinary.
