2. I don't mind you showing me your thighs. Your legs really are beautiful, and meeting them is an honor I'd be lucky to have in three lifetimes.
3. He spoke slowly, conserving his energy as carefully as an unemployed showgirl saving her last good pair of stockings.
4. “The police are people too.” “They used to be. So I've heard.”
5. She came over to me, radiating enough sex appeal to spoil a whole businessmen's luncheon. Tilting her head, she reached up to smooth a lock of softly gleaming hair that was a little, but not entirely, out of place. The smile on her face was tentative. This book is so wonderful! The protagonist Marlowe is really a very charming person, and his classic saying "You may not have any more feelings for other people than a butcher does for the animals he slaughters" is really sharp. Chandler's description is very delicate, such as "She walked up to me, and the sexiness exuded from her body was enough to disrupt a luncheon of businessmen." I immediately had a sense of the picture. I think the author is very good and can tell the story in such a fascinating and immersive way. I'm so ready to read his other works!
