Leaving my hometown in Yanjing, I set foot on the land of the northwest. The wind here is rough with gravel, the sun is bright and clear, and the vastness of the Gobi is reassuring.
The campus is located in the desert, and life is simple and hot. I studied hard in class, and after class I walked with my classmates on the empty streets as the sunset, ate a bowl of hot pasta, and listened to the laughter with accents from all over the world. The wind and sand blow away impetuosity, and loneliness grinds out growth. I learn to be independent in the dry air, and to persevere in the vast world.
Those ordinary and passionate days and nights concealed the confusion and stubbornness of youth, as well as the gentleness and strength unique to the Northwest. They have become unforgettable times in my life.
